Tech Review 2

I found an amazing website called, "Wonderopolis: Where the Wonders of Learning Never Cease." This completely free website was created by the National Center for Families Learning (NCFL) in 2010. Wonderopolis is fully sponsored by the Verizon Foundation and is part of the Thinkfinity COmmunity. Wonderopolis has a new "wonder" each day. This question is answered in a short video segement and it also includes a script of the video so the reader can follow along. Wonderopolis is also aligned to the new Common Core State Standards, STEM Educational Quality Framework, and Bloom's Digital Taxonomy! Teachers can choose their grade level or search by content area to see all the Wonders available. I think that students would certainly enjoy watching the Wonder of the Day and since it aligns with the Common Core, this website does double duty--it is fun and educational!
I have added a widget to my blog that will show the Wonder of the Day, but you can also subscribe by text or email. Happy Wondering!

  1. Lara, this is a really neat website! I think that it could be used as an opener or if there is ever a need to kill a brief amount of time in the day. I love how they play on the word "wonder." Kids wonder about things all the time, and I think this sight could encourage them to act on that wonder.
